Founded in 1891, North Park University is affiliated with the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC), a multi-ethnic Christian denomination with ministries on five continents. We are known for our diversity, our commitment to Christian principles, and our embrace of Chicago as a dynamic context for learning and service.

The students who come to North Park are from a wide range of nationalities, ethnicities, and religious backgrounds, but they all share a common desire: to build professional lives that have a lasting positive impact on the world. Our Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing (DEMSN) program continues in this tradition.

We Produce Nursing Leaders

North Park University’s School of Nursing and Health Sciences equips new and veteran nurses with the clinical knowledge and ethical principles they need to provide patient-centered health care. You’ll benefit from small classes led by our practitioner faculty members, simulation experiences in our cutting-edge labs, and clinical rotations with our regional health care partners.

We Are Proud Chicagoans

Our campus occupies 30 acres of America’s third-largest city. We embrace the learning and service opportunities that a large urban environment like Chicago provides, as well as its unique cultural and civic life.

As a part of the city’s educational community for more than 125 years, we can also offer DEMSN students a broad range of clinical practicum experiences thanks to our deep connections with health care facilities throughout Chicagoland.

We Are Proudly Diverse

As of 2021–22, North Park University’s undergraduate student population had no single ethnic majority, and 51.9% of our traditional undergraduate students identified as students of color. We also count a wide range of faith traditions among our students, from ECC members and other Christians to Jewish and Muslim students, as well as those without a religious affiliation.

By reflecting the diversity of the world we live in, our Chicago nursing school can offer students a learning environment where they feel seen and heard while preparing them with the cultural competencies, they will need to live professional lives of service as DEMSN-qualified nurses.
